Has anyone else picked up the cd "Hot Fuss" by the Killers? I recently did; and it is quite good. I believe they are from Las Vegas; but there is quite a buzz about them in the UK.

They are from Vegas. And the album is pretty good, at least the first half or so of it. There's a bit of trail off in quality toward the end, but the first bunch of tracks makes up for those that aren't as great. Good stuff.

I love these guys. The single for "Somebody Told Me" has a few tracks not on the Hot Fuss CD. "The Ballad Of Michael Valentine" is...well...killer!
Always seems like the U.K. are more up on these sorts of things.

They're new. Have a retro 80's sound blended with that compressed 00's sound.

I've heard they are Americans that are trying to convince people they are British by speaking in fake accents. Any truth to this?

They're American but the Brit accent is a gimmick they own up to.

Very ironic as I was at that gig with a Northerner and the first thing he asked me was, "They Yanks?'
To which I replied,"Sounds like it."

Are you serious? That's the drummer in a ska band? Ha ha! So, does that mean the Killers are donning the 80's schtick to be current?
IIIIIIII dunno. I'm not feelin' this one, at ALL. It sounds vaguely like stuff I also didn't like during the 80's.

The Killers will be here in Albuquerque in a few days, and I might go check them out. Portland-based the Prids will be opening ( I think), and I have to see the Prids. I have not heard any Killers music...I have no idea what is their sound. Is it anythin

I'll have to give them a listen as well.
Al Jourgenson of Ministry used the faux British accent bit early in his music career too. [}:)]
OI!
