YouTube, the new digital crack

I could spend hours sifting through the 80s nostalgia in here. A Honda scooter commercial by Devo? Adam Ant and Grace Jones scooter commercial?

Then there's nostalgic stuff like <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z39Ao3yAfVw">THIS.</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJhdJuZecmY">Jodie Foster singing in French?</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8XluynKckE">Then there's super-rare stuff like The Speedies.</a>

Just do a tag search for 1979, 1980, 1981, etc and you'll find TONS of bizarre stuff, mostly new wave related. It was nice to finally watch the Laura Branigan "Gloria" video. Awww yeah.

Wonder if my account(BigTeebo) can pubilcly share the favorites listed.

Whoo hoo!

Thanks to youtube I was able to relive DEVO on Fridays, the performance that convinced me DEVO were gods among us mere mortals.

You guys check out the live-action Simpsons intro?

The Speedies made all of their videos available on their website...

http://www.speediesremix.com/video.htm

...which is good, because Viacom seems to have lost their copies.

I love being able to see some of those old tv performances - Blondie on the Midnight Special - with a Wolfman Jack intro no less!

Yeah, YouTube is great, that is, until American Idol threatened to sue me. Now they're blackballing my content...

Oh yeah...youtube is definitely in my system. i make frequent trips down memory lane over there to the glorious 80's when I had little to no responsibility, lots of energy for dancing all night and great new music coming out constantly.

Veeeery addicting. I can spend HOURS in this site easy. They don't carry everything, though. I searched for UB40's "Red Red Wine" and Simply Red's "Holding Back The Years" and came out empty[V] I don't particularly like those songs, but the videos were these incredible British kitchen-sink type of stuff, especially the UB40 one!
