OK, Gene Loves Jezebel's "Every Door" always puts me in the mood. So does "If You Leave" from Thompson Twins. And Cyndi's "All Through The Night". I'm sure there are more, but I'd have to be standing in a gym that covered with crepe paper to think of them all.

If you like "Avalon", Bryan Ferry's solo followup "Boys and Girls" in in the same vein. I had a cassette with "Avalon" on one side and "Boys and Girls" on the other. Worked great.

Hey hey hey. We're steering away from New Wave. I'd totally choose Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry, but it's a bit of a stretch to refer to their music as definitive New Wave or New Romantic, but, god damn, I love the music! Okay, I'll list ONE Roxy Music song from [i]Avalon[/i][8D]

I had a girlfriend in 9th grade who worshipped Duran Duran. She used to play "Save a Prayer" and dim the lights when she wanted to make out. We used to fool around a lot. That music will always make me think of those days.

Now that I really think about though, what the HELL were her parents thinking? Letting her have a guy in her room with the door closed for as long as I used to hang out? I don't want to get graphic or anything, but I sure as hell wouldn't approve of my 9th grade daughter doing what we did. We always started out just kissing, but things soon got innapropriate.

I should look them up and thank them. [;)]

I feel the same way about Haircut 100's [i]Pelican West[/i] album. She had it on her cd carousel. So we were getting busy with the last tracks of some other shit she had (a mix of Enigma and some other crap), but the cd ended and played Haircut 100! I was too busy to reach for the remote and change the cd, so half that album is etched in my mind[8D]
