Pre Punk And New Wave There Was Glam
Did anyone here get into the 70's Glam movement at all? It was pre Punk and New Wave before those terms were ever used. All 3 though had very much in common,as all 3 were about clothes and fashion, and the way your hair looked. But with Glam a band like The Sweet, would purposely put on girls makeup, just to get guys and women thinking that they were a gay band. But it was all done in show.I love the Glam movement, alot of it inspired me to really get into both Punk and New Wave.
Some of my favorite Glam artists from the 70's were not your average run of the mill Glam artists.I just happened to like the more Glam Bubblegum artists the most. Here is a list of the artists like that are 70's Glam.
Gary Glitter(to me with both his name and look he was the Godfather of Glam) Bowie,Lou Reed,Iggy Pop,and Roxy Music may make claim on that, but I am talking about 70's Glam, not about 60's Glam.
Slade
The Sweet
Bay City Rollers
Kenny
Barry Blue
Alvin Stardust
Suzi Quatro
T Rex

Does anyone like any of the Glam artists from the 70's? It really doesn't have to be the ones that had more of a Bubblegum style and sound.I would just like to know which artists if any of you liked during that time period.Thanks.By the way,I haven't heard every Glam artist out there from the 70's that had a Bubblegum style and sound,so if any of you know of any others, that I am unaware of,can you please let me know who they are in a post? Thank you.
