...that captures that new wave, punk, post-punk, power-pop, synthpop, etc flavor for you? Something that came out in the last couple of years. Am I missing anything great? For me, it's gotta be British Sea Power's "Remember Me" or Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" with it's killer tempo change. Both foot-stompers take me back to those elemental, hard-driving riffs of the Clash or the Jam. Others?

I might be a little behind the times... the most "modern music" I've listened to is Green Day [;)]
Gonna have to check out Franz Ferdinand though.

I never got into the "grunge" bands from the early 90's. I remained stuck happily in the 80's. But near the end of the 90's & early 2000 I discovered a few industrial/electronic bands that I really like...

The answer is obvious. Is a song from 2001:
"All I ever wanted", by The Human League... [:D]
I'm not sure is the answer is a little trickier.[;)]

Talking more seriously, for a combination between synth-pop and naïve new wave, you should check FREEZEPOP and their "Freezepop forever". They are from Holland or Germany, don't remember, and the song has a couple of years...
