... and I am totally smitten - I mean I cannot stop listening to this stuff! I feel terrible that it's taken me twenty years to fully realize what I've been missing! I tell you, if you can listen to these girls and NOT get a big shit-eating grin on yer face, mister your a better man than I.

Saw them on an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer a few years back. They were playing the song "Sugar Water" in a club.

The Powerpuff Girls theme song is actually performed by "Bis" - Shonen Knife did a song called "Buttercup (I'm A Super Girl)" that is on the PPG tribute album though.

Shonen Knife also did a few covers which have been in movies and commercials:

I checked and although I have 'Rain' on 712 (from '91), it was originally released on the Tater Totz album in '89. Both also have Lennon's 'The Luck of the Irish' with Naoko Yamano doing a spot on Yoko.
