I was digging around in some old boxes I packed away and came across 3 newspaper-styled magazines from 1982 called "New Sounds". I vaguely remember buying all 3 at the same time in a grocery store in a very small town in mid-Minnesota.

Lots of articles on Adam Ant, Duran Duran, X, The Pretenders...

Any other obscure genre magazines that you remember? I'm not talking about Trouser Press, Creem, Punk or the like, but more obscure or underground.

I wouldn't call them "New Wave" but when I was a teen I NEVER missed No 1, Smash Hits & Record Mirror magazines, all UK weeklies. 20 years ago they always seemed to have Depeche Mode & Siouxsie on the cover when no American mag would touch them with a bar

I have a few issues of Zig Zag. I totally forgot about that magazine!

I also have 5 "issues" of a magazine that was on cassette called "SFX". They interviewed bands, had celebrities review records, had "cover stories" about home taping and taxing bla

Anyone remember Debut? The magazine that was also a record?
It was also a UK bi-weekly or bi-monthly, I forgot... but that was incredibly hard to find & pretty expensive too. I had a few of them.

This brings up an interesting topic - and one that I've been agonizing over for a while now.

What magazines - if any - do you read NOW? The sad fact is there are very few publications that cover music I'm interested in (let alone ones where Superfecta

I've got 3 or 4 issues of Debut, there was a shop around here a few months ago who had almost all of them for $10 each. I haven't paid more than $3 for each of mine so I didn't bother filling out my collection with those.

As for new mags, I look at Mo

....had to dig around in the attic to find them, but there I have a couple of issues of 'Bomp!' magazine - from about the same era as Zig Zag (I love Zig Zag!). I'm not certain but it was probably affiliated with the record label of the same name.

I found a box of old magazines and indie publications in my mother's basement this weekend. It contained a treasure trove of 80's memories. There was a copy of NY Rocker (3/84) w/ Johnny Rotten on the cover, The Link (2/83) w/ Boy George, Ear Of the Kat
