Uh...how is "Joy Division" any different from the current New Order? Will they have Hooky singing Digital and Transmission, or will they have an animatronic puppet of Ian Curtis on stage, like at Chuck E. Cheese?

Ahhhh... that isn't Joy Division, that's New Order singing JD songs. They could call themselves "New Division" but we all know that it just isn't Joy Division.

And trust me people I LOVE NEW ORDER.

Anyway, I'd kill to see that show.

New Order are currently in the studio recording new music (mostly instrumental) as Joy Division for a film about Ian Curtis.

I know that they are in the studio recording new amterial.... I'm pretty up-to-date with what happens to New Order.

But I am a firm believer that Joy Division is Ian, Stephen, Peter and Bernard. Not just Stephen, Bernard and Peter... that's New Order in my mind and it works separately from Joy Division.

I concur. New Order is fine, but New Order recording as Joy Division is like Wall/Final Cut era Pink Floyd breaking out "Lucifer Sam" and "Careful With That Axe, Eugene". It's too late; you can't go back.

Actually, in concert, New Order's JD songs sound phenomenal. They're beefed up with new technology and the addition of guitarist Phil Cunningham who replaces Gillian Gilbert. LWTUA, Transmission, She's Lost Control and Atmosphere absolutely ROCKED in concert at Hammerstein last year. If this isn't an April Fools, it's not to be missed IMHO.

I've seen recordings of New Order palying JD songs.... and they are GREAT. There's a super cool version of "She's lost control" and of "LWTUA".
But it's not a question of sounding good or bad.... it's a question of the essence of Joy Division.
