Neuropa, Wolfsheim, DeVision

3 of the newer synth pop bands clearly taking up the sounds of Camouflage, etc....these are just 3 of many that are damn good. Check out the site sometime for Different Drum - it pretty much caters to all synth pop releases, new and some older stuff too. It's amazing how many synth pop groups are actually out there today cranking out some great stuff with no radio play or commercial push to really speak of. Germany seems to have a big movement with synth pop again.

BTW: Neuropa is Australian. I actually briefly corresponded with Albert Martinez (one half of the duo) back in 1997, concerning their then just released first album "New Faith" an

....great modern synth-pop. You can totally hear the Depeche/Blancmange/OMD/Cure influences. Good stuff!

What puzzles me is why a lot of old Depeche and Camouflage fans do not listen to these bands and the likes. People keep asking what's the new New Wave and these bands are it. There's no reason why someone who likes OMD wouldn't like Neuropa. Wolfsheim

Have to agree with Sean about the new synthpop. Some other great bands are:
Blue October (this is the synth band, there is another band with the same name)
Color Theory
Cosmicity
Count To Infinity

Wolsheim's "Once In A Lifetime" seems to have displaced the traditional "How Soon Is Now?" by The Smiths as Lyndhurst, New Jersey's Aldo's Dance Club's "last call" last song of the night.
