Altrok's Eighties Friday - Yet Again!

Folks,

Altrok Radio normally plays the best new modern rock it can get its grubby little hands on, alongside a smattering of the relevant classics that stand as an inspiration to today's edge-riding artists. We were among the first outlets in America to play Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Bloc Party, Hard-Fi, and other bands who looked back at the eighties and thought there was something terrifically valid about the music of that time.

So why did Altrok go retro with its new Altrok Eighties Friday block?

Most eighties flashback efforts aren't picky - if it's got a copyright date from 1980-1989, it goes on the air - no matter how irrelevant it is to what's happening now.

Altrok, on the other hand, has only ever played songs from the eighties that mattered then AND now. Over the past five years, we've played enough of them between the new songs we've featured that it was finally time to give them a chance to shine on their own...

....thus, Altrok's Eighties Friday. An eight hour playlist that features some of the best music available in that decade. (Back then, we had a couple of songs from the seventies we liked - you'll hear some of those, too.)

Let me say that again: An eight hour playlist.

It's happening now. And it'll happen again every Friday if enough folks tune in.
