Sorry I just couldn't resist....

Japan who are way cooler with David Sylvain, Mick Karn and the rest of the gang or those other Disco Muffy wannabeees Duran Duran.

Don't get me wrong I like Duran Duran and it sounds like I a little hard on them but damn it! Japan better win this one.

Oops, error detected...[;)] I don't think they are comparable. Japan wanted to be an "intellectual" band and DD "just wanted to have fun". Japan were risky, DD were commercial oriented. Japan' songs needs some listenings to dig into them, DD song's wanted

OMG, there is just noooooo comparison! Japan is one of the greatest bands that ever was. Mick Karn is one of the best bassists that ever lived.

I love all their albums, and how they grew from a glam band of sorts, into new wave, into progressive music

My vote is for Duran Duran and this is based solely on that footage from "Sing Blue Silver" which shows Nick Rhodes on stage tinkering around with all sorts of impressive looking pieces of Hi-Fi equipment which in reality don't actually DO anything except

Suburban Love, Adolescent Sex, Communist China, Transmission, The Unconventional were all great Gutar/Moog oriented songs all great tracks from the Adolescent Sex LP lets not for Get Television. I
