What is your favorate New Wave album of the 80's?

I have been in a discussion lately about which new wave album is my favorate. The albums that came immediately to mind were Dare from the Human League, Seven and the Ragged Tiger from Duran Duran, and Mirror Moves from the Furs.

But I think in my heart, my favorate new wave album is Throw the Warped Wheel Out from Fiction Factory. I first bought it for 'Feels Like) Heaven', but I have really grown to love 'Panic' and 'The First Step'. Quite a pop-py album. Pop music sure has strayed off from where it was 20 years ago!

I think the only albums I still listen to all the way through (and always did,) without getting bored were;
Careful - Motels
and Til Tuesday's debut album.

There's nothing earth shattering or innovative about them, especially in the Motels case - just a nice collection of pop songs. They simply spoke to me, and I liked every song on the albums.

Hmm, without thinking too much about it, I would say my favourite has to be Depeche Mode's Black Celebration. Others in contention would be Propaganda's A Secret Wish, and maybe New Order's Technique.

Tie between "She's So Unusual" by Cyndi Lauper (I know, how daring) and "Hammer on a Drum" by The Payola$. Had 'em both on my turntable for most of '83 and '84. They were those rare breed of records where every track could have been a single. Although "Hammer" was a more personal album for me, so maybe I'd have to give it the edge.

I can still listen to ABC's Lexicon of Love and Teardrop Explodes' Wilder. I think they came around at the right time, and have just stuck with me.

I love the music and I have a lot of good memories associated with it.

Ooh, so many possible choices. Will it be Gary Numan "Telekon" or Ultravox "Rage In Eden". No, maybe it will be The Beatniks "Exitentialism" or Visage "Visage". Then again, it could be John Foxx "Metamatic" or possibly Yukihiro Takahashi "Neuromantic".

Damn it, I really don't think I can pick just one.
