New Wave Vs No Wave

What is the difference between these two music labels? I'd look up No Wave on All Music Guide but it might be the next millenium before the right page comes up. I always assumed No Wave was the return of guitar oriented bands in the mid-80s. Am I close?

To my knowledge, The "No Wave" movement revolved around late 70's/early 80's NYC.
Brian Eno produced a compilation entitled "No New York" which featured groups that were the start of the whole scene: Teenage Jesus and the Jerks (early Lydia Lunch), DN

Chalk a vote up for New Wave. I think the NO stands for no good. [:D]
I bought an LP "Live at the Speed Trials" featuring Lydia Lunch, Sonic Youth, Swans, etc. Also the Beastie Boys before they when rap. Is god awful noise.
