Hutter turned me onto the Trilambs. REALLY funny, kitschy stuff using 80's loops kind of like the way DJ Z Trip did in his underground phenomenon, Uneasy Listening.
Manekineko got me into Pizzicato 5.
And DearGod for Nouvelle Vague.

someone posted some Vision UK (specifically, "Lucifer's Friend"), and I don't know who it was, but I can't stop listening to it!

....and I'm sure there are more that I can't remember right now.

The only member specific groups I can think of is the Chameleons via Swamp Thing. I had never heard of them until coming here. I also want to thank goutroy for Experimental Products!

I can't remember who introduced me to others. Without coming to the NWO I would never have heard these bands;

Jimbo turned me onto "X". I can't thank him enough for that. Ollie has piqued my interest in punk bands I didn't even know existed, and I'm grateful for that, and I wish I could in some way repay him for sharing his knowledge. Motors has shared some cool funk rarities with me, and IWantMyMTV, DJFredVal, Frayo, coop, Wolvie and many, many others here have helped me find music I lost all hope of finding years ago. Overall, the folks in the non-NNNW forums are a gracious and generous group.

Ass kissing doesn't suit me, so I hope y'all know I'm being sincere.

Swampy and Grunch definately got me to dig through the entire Chameleons back catalog. Oneno inspired me to dig up more old...tadah!...Eno. Schwenko is responsible for getting me into way more detail on a large repertoire of NYC bands...The Marbles, Patti Smith, Television, Richard Hell, The Dolls, etc.

Oh, and MikeP alerted this Plimsouls fan to the embarrassing fact that the Nerves actually first wrote and sang "Hanging on the Telephone" on their great 1976 EP.

I keep remembering others: DJ Lestat for Kasabian, Marvy for Sigour Ros, Motors for Einstürzende Neubauten, Abacab for reminding me of the Essence. There'll be more I'm sure. And right Motors, I forgot about Schwenko's Notekillers - awesome!

Wow, Blir sure has been selling everyone on British Sea Power. Count me in (and by extension, a couple of folks from my office). Manekineko's CDs have had a lot of play at my office too.

I can't remember who hooked me up with Armoury Show.

Mostly I am grateful to any number of folks here who helped me find songs I thought I'd never hear again.

How could I fail to mention the melodic soundscapes and the sonic beauty of "Experiments in Fuck" by Controlled Bleeding.[;)]

The Name That Tune contests have turned me on to endless songs and bands that I now love. It's been great to find new music from the era. Some off the top of my head...

This brings up a very interesting point. FritzB has probably turned me onto more music from different styles than I'd have ever sought out and listened to myself. I think my NTTs have always been somewhat standard fare - things you could have heard on the radio, however rare they might have been. Fritz's more exotic interpretations of his NTTs really were the very first inkling that what I considered New Wave Bible really wasn't - that there was no such thing. In my first months on the NWO, I used to think we all liked the same things, but really our music is incredibly varied and subject to seemingly endless discovery. I likely know 1000% more about New Wave than I did back then. It's been f&*king great here!!! [:p]

Where do I begin?
The Song of The Week feature was what first attracted me to this site because I wasn't familiar with about 90% of them. Then MikeP offered the first 200 songs on a compilation, and my mission was to find out more about them.
Additionally, The Elektrics (via Electric Lash?) and tons of music that FritzB and Blir made available. And all you WLIR guys/gals are very generous, too.
