Does anyone know anything at all about this Boston band? All I have is a 128k mp3 of a pretty interesting song from 1982 called "1926" that was recently remade by Thalia Zedek. Kinda cool, plaintive lyrics like "your god hates me..."

V; was a short-lived Boston band from 1980-82. The lead singer, Susan Anway, has a site under her name that has info about the band. Susan went on to sing with Magnetic Fields. The drummer, Matt Burns, is in The Classic Ruins.

The aforementioned website (with a band photo and names of all members) is...

Didn't download the track and did a complete shrug until I saw a post on another website that mentioned they had a cut on one of those Propeller EP compilations that everybody who lived in Boston in the early '80s always seemed to have. Then I remembered my brother had the comp in question, and I vaguely remembered the cut on it. I'll have to ask him if he remembers anything more, because I sure don't.

V; put out a self produced 3-song 7inch 45. A cut on a 4 song Propeller EP. The four track 12inch 45 on Propeller and 2 tracks on a Propeller tape only comp. None of this stuff is in print, however, Mr Ripley at psycherelics.com has copies of all of this stuff plus radio tapes. He is a big trader of obscure materials and you might want to approach him. One caveat; V; was actually an abrasive art-punk band. 1926 was the only 'pretty' song that they did.
