Looking for everyone to contribute to this post for an accurate listing of 80s bands posters, mentions or visuals in movie scenes. For instance:

16 Candles - Molly Ringwald has the Rave Ups scriblled on her notebook as well as a squeeze poster (The Singles collection) in her room.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Ferris has Cabaret Voltaire and Simple Minds poster in his room


You get the idea...lets be accurate and post pics from movie scenes if we can for verification purposes (nice but not mandatory).

There was a Blondie poster in one of the victim's bedrooms in Silence of the Lambs.

I'm pretty sure in "Gregory's Girl", there were posters for The Jam and Rush in Gregory's room. I think there were more.

There was the life-size Debbie Harry cutout in "Fast Times". Mike Damone used it to demonstrate how to talk to a girl. You'd think there'd be some posters in that movie, but I can't remember any.

This is different from a poster but in the movie "An American Werewolf In London" the words 'The Jam' can be seen grafitti'd in a phone booth as one of the characters chats on the phone.

Mike Damone's room in "Fast Times" features two Elvis Costello posters (Trust and one with Costello in a phone booth), Pete Townshend, and The Buzzcocks.

Ferris Bueller had the best room though. I's love to see an exhastive list of the good stuff in his room.

According to allmusic.com, Rave-Up's lead singer Jimmer Podrasky fathered a child with Molly's sister (completely useless knowledge)

I love seeing the old 80's posters in all the movies. I actuall had the one in Damones room of the Roller Girl with all the buttons on her.
I remember in Fast Times that the girl who was next to Brad Hamilton at the red light when he's delivering fish to IBM was Nancy Wilson from Heart, I don't know if she and Cameron Crowe were married yet. In Ferris Bueller the muzac playing when they are at the museum is the Smiths song Please, Please, let Me Get What I Want. I was also watching "Real Genius" the other day and heard the Comsat Angels song "I'm Falling"

also in Repo Man, Otto's friend Kevin is played by Zandler Schloss woh was the bass player for the Circle Jerks who were also the lounge act in the bar, they sang a slow version of "When the Shit Hits the Fan"

Man, I don't know how you all remember these details. I was sure I'd be able to think of some...but nothin'. Except to add that this above was The Dream Academy's instrumental cover of Please Please. Both their inst and vocal versions are excellent, and that's an alltime favorite scene.
