Trevor Horne overused tire squeal sample

Postby oneno » Thu May 18, 2006 3:10 am

I was just listening to some art of noise the other day and then lol creme and kevin godleys' the history mix and kept hearing that damn "tire squeal" sample that trevor horne used on alot of his mid eghties production work. Geez how many songs did he use that sample on? Gina X-drive my car, tom jones-kiss, anybody think of others?

I think other remixers picked it up as well - I recall a Jody Watley song that used the tire screech over & over & over & over....

The Tire squeal sounds almost as popular as that breaking glass sound!

There's a tire squeal sound on Yello 'I Love You' and Severed Heads 'Petrol' 12", but the one used by AON is actually more like an ignition sound
