What record did you but that you most regretted wasting your money on?

Man I've got a bunch of those. Sometimes it was the seductive power of a great song that got me to buy the whole record, the rest of which sucked. Other times I thought the record sounded great in the store but later found myself wondering why I bought it.

Example: I remember back in the day buying Blue Oyster Cult's "Agent Of Fortune" based mostly on the song "Don't Fear The Reaper". I never could get into the rest of it though.

Thank god we can download singles now!

I liked the single "Stars", I purchased the CD and didn't care for the rest.

SOS Band's Greatest Hits.

They should have called it SOS Band's Greatest Hit, plus a crapload of songs that suck.

Back in the day, I won a lot of albums off the radio by being caller 10 that I wish I never won. But I think the first album I truly regretted buying was Taxxi's "Day for Night". Special ordered that sucka. (I really liked their "States of Emergency" album.)

I made hundreds of deaf buys* out of the cut-out bins in the '80s -- most of which deserved to not only be there but to stay there. Still, the biggest regret has got to be Klaus Nomi's first album. I was at some local used record swap with a bud (who's a little more musically-adventurous than myself), I had no knowledge of Klaus whatsoever, the cover looked amusing, it wasn't expensive, and he kept bragging, "Oh, you got to get that! You got to get that!" Oh, I got it alright.

Think I only blew 3 bucks on that record, but it was $4 more than it was worth. And, no, I don't take music recommendations from him anymore.

LOL, she released enough material (and I don't mean nudie shots) to fill a boxset? The only track of hers I've heard was "Heart Don't Lie", which I thought was okay (but not so good that I wanted to buy it).

Haha; Klaus Nomi--towards the end of his life--actually opened for Twisted Sister. I've a hard time deciding who is worse.

Pearl Jam - Ten (Technically a gift, but I did ask for it.)

Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire (All of the songs are the same, with slight variations--the variations being which Zeppelin song Morello decides to rip off)

Devo - Pioneers Who Got Scalped (Devo is one of my three favorite bands, but the second disc of this is [b]crap[/b]--this coming from one of the five people who liked "Oh No, It's Devo!". I will say that I liked "I Wouldn't Do That To You.")

Thanks to Soulseek and iTunes, I no longer have to buy whole albums.
