Not Another Teen Movie

What did you think of Not Another Teen Movie? It satirized almost all of the John Hughes 80s rite of passage movies, especially Pretty in Pink, and the music was almost all new wave hits from 80s teen movies covered by new bands. Molly Ringwald even has a cameo at the end, and they even quote from some of the movies. I still can't decide whether it was an homage or trashed the genre. Any opinions?

Hmm...good question. I think it was a poorly done homage to the Hughes-teen-dramedy. I liked it more than I should have primarily for the Hughes cliches they sent up. Had they curtailed the ENDLESS bad taste jokes, it might have been a better comedy.

Yeah, I agree with Ghosty. I don't think they were trying to trash
anything. And the soundtrack was pretty cool; I love System Of A Down's version of "The Metro".

Ghosty, do you mean Poison Ivy: The New Seduction? That one's a doozy! Yeah, I have a slightly pathetic knowledge of "Skinemax" flicks from the mid 90's. Those were the best days for some good old-fashioned softcore fun for the entire family!

I think I'm going to start planning my weekend viewing! And to sound like a total perv, I'll throw in kiss of the vampire with Allysa Millano. I dare you to get through the movie without a bathroom break.[;)]

Don't want to sound like a know-it-all here, Phillyidol, but the movie you are referring to is called Embrace of the Vampire and it has a humdinger of a lesbo scene! How did we get so far off-topic?

"How did we get so far off-topic?"

Because we're guys.

Aah..the glory days of direct-to-video 90's softcore sleaze! "Embrace Of The Vampire" is the film Alyssa Milano wishes she did'nt make. Stills from the lesbian scene wound up on the internet (

Ghosty, the greatest thing about the movie Blown Away is that the one givin' it to Nicole Eggert is none other than 80's icon, Corey Haim! When I first looked at the box and saw that it was an erotic thriller starring the two Coreys, I thought for sure th

Did you guys see the two Corries now? The fatter one was on some reality tv show surreal life. He is totally messed up. He has alot of problems. But the other one! Sheez! He is totally fat and strung out. It was pretty sad to see him. He could have had an

Hmmm..Corey Haim DID dress as a woman in a cheap teen film (also starring Nicole Eggert) in which he sought to join the cheerleading squad.

Not the classic "Just One Of The Guys" but a film suspiciously just like it.
