"The Bromley Contingent" Siouxie's peeps

There is a book coming out this summer by one of the "Contingent" Bertie (AKA Berlin) Marshall about the stylish group of youngsters who hung out at Malcolm Mclaren's Sex shop and were in a way were the first groupies of the Sex Pistols. These were the Siouxie days that pre-date the Banshees' era. I believe the book is called "Berlin Bromley". I was reading the write up article about those days in the June "MOJO" Mag. It was totally fascinating and it reminded me of my youth and my mates. We too had a knack of grabbing attention from on lookers since we dressed sooooo extravagantly and flamboyantly in our new wave uniform, since this was for us around 82-84 there wasn’t if any new wavers around our town except for us. We did get our far share of attention from on lookers.

I know Billy Idol was part of the Bromley Contingent and I think Sid Vicious was also (prior to joining the Pistols).

Sounds like it could be an interesting book - - I've looked over MANY b&w photos from that era...

Supposedly the book is already out in the UK. There was a post about it on the Steven Severin website. It looks like an interesting book.

What about that Catwoman chick? I think she was the only one from the Contingent that didn't end up in a successful band.
