Today i find in a record bin a Lp from 1985 by the Flirts * 1 a band composed by a guy named bobby orlando who plays synths and all others instruments whith the help of three sexys girls singers

Who are dress in the cover in goth black leather look

Musically it's synth pop thats remind me the human league , and german or belgium synth pop bands of the 80's

Do you know and have any informations about this band


*1 not the same band with the same name Flirt from detroit who is a great stooges killed by death Punk who have realeased a killer single in 1977 with songs degenerator b / w dont' push me around

The Flirts were one of those 80s pre-fab bands. They were created by Bobby Orlando, who owns a dance record label. I remember they had a few minor pop hits including "Jukebox" and "Passion". They were purely a commercial enterprise, like the Spice Girls. Just not as successful. [:p]

Bobby O went on a solo career in the 80's. He had a club hit, "Fantasy Girl" circa 1989. House/dance stuff.

I think the same thing like bur despite this fact in this Lp' they have 2 or 3 good songs

Bobby O originally produced the Pet Shop Boys. Neil Tenant came to NY to see him and to try to convince him to produce PSB. The results: West End Girls and ? Opportunities. When they parted ways afterwards, Bobby O got a lot of money from the sales of West End Girls.

Just thought I would bring this forward with all the Flirts posts Ive seen.

Bobby Orlando was also behind a nice power pop band from NY called The Now.Their self titled lp,stands somewhere between Blondie and a surfy Knack with a novelty touch.
