Favorite disco tune

Disco Sucks!!!
I proudly wore my shirt back in 78-79 and would blast Zeppelin or the Sex Pistols as I would drive by a disco with the dance crowd anxiously waiting to get inside. They would flip me and my friends off as we sped away....Those were the days.
Now some 25 years later I can appreciate "some" disco in comparison to the rap world of today. Which brings me to this--Even disco haters had a disco song they liked. What was yours? and I do not mean the Italiodisco we have discussed--I mean things like Bee Gees, Tavares , Anita Ward , Patrick Hernandez , Chic , etc etc.
My choice--"I Can't Stand The Rain" by Eruption

Wow Randy, I totally agree with you!
I almost got beat up for wearing a "Disco Sucks" shirt, ha-ha!
But I do enjoy it now. I agree with Sean "If I Can't Have You" is fabulous by Yvonne Ellimon (spelling?) but the version by Eve's Plum is even better

Donna Summer, "Last Dance". 1978 8th grade graduation dance in Catholic grade school. Nuns let us slow dance, got a kiss. Hey, it's a two-part song too...oops, wrong thread.

I second "I Want Your Love" by Chic. Nile Rodgers' production back then was immaculate, and that guitar style of his was so smooooooth!

I like Chic too. "Good Times" and "I Want Your Love" are great. Although overplayed, I also love "Funkytown", "Rock The Boat" and "Born To Be Alive". Couple of others that always come to mind are "Mandolay" by La Flavour, "Night Fever" by The Bee Gees,

Actually the whole Saturday Night Fever s/t is great!!It's a darn good movie-the late Gene Siskle was right-it's not a disco film-it's a tough, coming-of-age film that happens to use disco

When we were not clubbing, me and my new wave freinds would get food and beer, then rent Saturday night fever and laugh all night long.
And if your going to listen to disco, you have to listen to hard core stuff like Brick House, car wash, earth wind
