Our own NWO ebay?

The fact that Otter has an OOP cd for auction on Ebay generated this idea:

Before posting a hard to find cd on Ebay, why not notify us loyal members of NWO first? The seller can option to ask for a buy price or indicate he would like each of us to bid on it. We can each individually submit a bid to the seller in private. The seller takes the highest bid. We can have our "own" Ebay.[:D]

Any thoughts?

Problem is that you can get more money on Ebay, there are more potential buyers. Unless you just want to be a nice guy and sell if for less to someone on NWO. Or maybe the NWO buyer should be the nice guy and pay above market value to the seller! [:0]

I thought about doing just that, both here and on the indiepop mailing list, but realized how much work that would be. I'm actually trying to get about 300 items listed, sold, and sent away before my next classes begin in September. Returning to school

About 3 years ago I sold an X-Mal Deutschland cd on ebay for $60. I thought MAYBE I'd get $7 for it. I was shocked beyond belief with the final bid.

I agree, as much as I'd love to be the nice guy, the dollar signs talk louder than the niceties!
