Favorite Concerts

This is probably a topic that has been done before, but I thought it would be fun.

Along with a bunch of indie punk and local bands, I saw the following "record lable" bands live during the 80's:

Devo (small setting at a local college)
Billy Idol (large arena concert)
Violent Fems (small setting at fair grounds)
Modern English (small setting at a local college)
The Producers (small setting at a local college)
Howard Jones (mountainside outdoors)
Oingo Boingo (small setting at fair grounds)
OMD (posh Symphony Hall)
Eurythmics (mountainside outdoors)

Of these, my favorite was Devo. It was just a great intimate setting that felt more like a party than a concert. The Fems were also quite good. They came onto stage by first coming through the crowd playing hand held instruments.

I much prefer the smaller settings over the large arenas.

What was or were your favorite(s)?

I met and hung out with the Ramones. I'm not a huge fan but they are good. Anyway it was at wlir's nonconformal ball(a huge party) And they were real cool. I even had beers with Joey.

One of my all time favorites was seeing The Fixx opening for A Flock Of Seagulls at Radio City Music Hall in 1982. That show blew me away!![8D] Both bands were excellent.

BTW, welcome to the NWO!

New wave day at the 1983 US Festival was great. Terry Bozzio on the drums was amazing. It was hotter than hell, but enjoyable.

It was cold & me & my 2 buddies drove up to Boston in my beatup 1974 yellow & black Dodge Dart Swinger. When we arrived, we hung outside the club & drank vodka straight to warm us up.[:p]
The show was awesome! Dur

I think I may have stated this on another thread somewhere around here, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself, but my favorite concert of all time was 999 at the Left Bank in Mount Vernon, NY (they were touring the "Concrete" album at the time). I have n
