By trade I work in the video industry (currently making air dubs of TV commercials, and co-producing a cable tv show called Drinking With Ian (www.drinkingwithian.com).

In 1982 I took my first video class and knew then and there that is what I wanted to do.

What about the rest of you? How does what you do now (professionally) compare with what you "wanted" to do?

Honestly, I did not think too far into the future. I really didn't care as long as I had hang out money. Then I managed bands and that was fun and paid. But now(don't laugh) I'm a social worker for the aged! Yes, I watch out for old people!When I tell old

What I wanted to do was go to medical school.

Now -

Then - worked at KFC.
Now- I have been teaching high school Special Ed. for the last 17 years.

I was unemployed then(whenever that was) and I'm equally unemployed now (how soon is that). Alternatively I was a student then (when was then) and I'm a student now (I hate change but that's another issue).

I always wanted to be a writer and I became one! (Among other things)

Then: Grade 7 to the end of highschool. I wanted to be a musician.

Now: Musician, poised on the brink of some wierd underground notoriety, lol.

Yeah, it all worked out juuust fine, lol.

Then-A College student living life large at a college radio station.

Now-A College student working on my Ph.D. and getting involved in college radio again with a start-up college micro-power station.

Then: Supermarket Stockboy
Now: United Parcel Service (UPS)

Then: Youngster with the confidence of ignorance.
Now: Oldster in television and radio without the confidence of ignorance.

Then: 1st job: grocery store bagger and also worked in a library.
BUT I WANTED to work in radio, such as DJ or production work. ( I wanted to do what Steve Rabow did ! )

College: worked in library, majored in English, thought I'd teach Kinde

It was the eighties! Of course I worked at the mall, at a shoe boutique in Bellevue Square. What a place to see and be seen!

Now I am a lawyer for the state legislature . . . not particularly well-compensated compared to most lawyers, but then unlike

Now: Art Director [childrens' book publisher], photographer, full-time artist.
