Tougher - much, much, tougher. It is still Devo for me but Joy Division was very important to the development of new wave. What I wonder is would Joy Division have been considered as significant if Ian Curtis had lived? I wonder what kind of turnout Jo

Devo! Why put Devo up against anybody. They are new wave pioneers who set the standard musically and visually.

I agree with WoodlandParkPunk, I'd choose Devo over just about any other group, soloist, etc.
In fact, I cannot think of any other group that I would choose over Devo in a head-to-head. Anyone else?

Pikeprof is right.
Trying to compare the two bands is ridiculous. They are two very different groups coming at you from two very different places with very different sounds and attitudes. Devo worked with a concept, and played them through. Kind of li

As I mentioned before on the Joy Division vs New Order thread, I was never a big fan of Joy Division, so Devo wins this one.
