Devo: bright, sunny, fun, happy, funny, ironic.
Joy Division: dark, gloomy, dreary, sad.
When I am in a happy mood, I'd rather listen to Devo.
When I am melancholic I'd listen to JD

Posted: Wed Aug 18, 2004 8:42 amIt is true that Devo's music is bouncy and fun, but the lyrics are often very dark and even sad. Just take a look at It's Not Right, Beautiful World, and Turnaround for an example. That's one of the main things I find so compelling about the band.
