Well Given that the specials really started the ska revival and that "the selecter" was a b-side of a specials song originally and then they kind of started the band because of it-I have to give it to the specials-also the specials were really out in fron

I give it to the Specials, if only for the debut and the "Ghost Town" single. That debut lp is a gem. I enjoy the Selector ("Too Much Pressure" and "Celebrate the Bullet") but never to the extent of that amazing Specials debut.

The Specials get my vote. I just like more of their songs than I do Selecter songs (First time I heard Selecter was on the old WPIX station on a Sunday morning. They played "On Your Radio" and I thought "what is this????" and then they mixed it into "Lu

I'd have to go with The Selecter, if only because the female singer was easy on the eyes!
I saw the Skavoovie tour when The Selecter and The Special Beat played together. Judging by that show alone I would say its a dead tie.

I can say about both equal.
But if I were to choose one it would be The Selecter, there songs were tougher, darker with more bite. Songs like "Street Feeling", "They Make Me Mad", "Danger", and "Black and Blue" put the Selecter over the top
