I enjoyed both his music and poetry. I saw him play with the Jim Carroll band, back in the day in a concert hall, and also about 10 years ago in a small venue. He's cool.

Loved his music, sure wish Dry Dreams LP would see a CD release. I have never heard a bad song by him, his poetry is a bit bizarre at times, but that is the incendiary mind of the genius he is. I have Catholic Boy CD, Praying Mantis CD, CD-R of Dry Dreams

Ditto on the release of Dry Dreams. Twenty years ago I was so into Jim Carroll (and still am) that my then boyfriend drew a portrait of Jim, framed it, and gave it to me as a gift. Also, I made a large painting based on the picture of the unmade bed on

Dry Dreams was fair.
After that , retirement would have been nice. (Although I do like Falling Down Laughing off of the awful Pools Of Mercury.)
