Sexy (synthpop) Songs

Postby Cheetos » Tue Aug 31, 2004 4:26 am

Since my eyes were opened (once again) in the Mush thread (lots of NW knowledge here), I will try for the type of songs I'm interested in.

I posted this in a different message board previously with limited success. Stuff like "Thrill Kill Kult" is okay, but I'm thinking of mainly early '80s and especially, with moaning (in pleasure, ofcourse), something like that Donna Summer's song (but not that song) [:)]

Here's the stuff I mean...

Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf
Berlin - Sex
Data - Blow
SSQ - Screaming In My Pillow

Can anyone recommend any others?

They don't all have moaning but there's a sexual overtone to all of these songs:

I’m Not Scared – Eighth Wonder
When We Kiss – Bardeux
I’m Yours Tonight – Lady D
Sex Dwarf – Soft Cell
Obsession – Fem 2 Fem
Love Is Just A Breath Away – Les Mckeown

Hey, not new wave by any means, but you gotta hear the lush, romantic Nick Lowe track "Let's Stay In And Make Love"; it seems like a good companion piece to Eric Claptons's "Wonderful Tonight" and Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight" and of course, you get the

The dichotomy of a romantic track could be the lyrically abrasive sounds of Karen Finley.......fun when you just want to hear trash talk, on a grand scale. She can deliver.

Heh, Karen Finley. I'll refrain from typing in a few lines from "Tales Of Taboo(The Yam Jam)" or "Sushi Party". I still need that debut album in it's entirety. I've only a few scattered MP3s and the "Tales...." 12inch.

Karen Finley "Tales Of Taboo"? OMG! That is one of the rudest records I've ever heard. As a club DJ I used to sample it heavily in afterhours club sets, along with other X-Rated club tracks. It would always get a "rise" out of the crowd. If you wanna l

"Love Is A Stranger" by the Eurythmics is a really sexy synth-tune with grunting/moaning - it also happens to be my favorite Eurythmics song.

Oh, and how could I forget "I Want You Now" by Depeche Mode. It starts with slow heavy breathing, then panting and moaning - sexy and dark at the same time.

Wonderful Tonight romantic? It may sound it but it's about a drunk! How romantic is that?

I second the vote for "Love Is A Stranger." I have to agree, the passionate male grunts/moans really make the song sexy, and the lyrics are brilliant.

"Grass" by XTC (not technically new wave, but still 80s and worthy of mention for the lyrics):

"Aphrodisiac" - Bow Wow Wow.

Especially considering Annabella Lwin was like 14 when they recorded this track.
