Any Gene Loves Jezebel fans here? I thought they were great and extremely under rated. Love the Kiss Of Life lp--near the top of my list of favorites. Always sad to see their cds in the cut out bins.[:(]

I wasn't a big fan of Gene Loves Jezebel, but they had their moments. My favorite song by them is "Punch Drunk" (b-side to "Bruises"). I did see them on tour long ago when they played Danceteria in NYC, and we actually were able to sneak in downstairs t

Their early work was fantastic. I own a few GLJ CD's. When the Aston brothers split, it was never the same. You can't go home again, sadly...

I agree with EchoBeachBunnyBoy. I was truly a huge fan of their earlier work - a really impressive original post-punk/goth hybrid. Their later years - when they went insipidly glam/bordering on hair-metal was just ... sad.

I loved GLJ, they had a bit of a "junky/glam" feel on the earlier stuff. I also think that Michael Astons solo CD "Why Me, Why This, Why Now?" is incredible.... a very moody album.

I too saw the same touring show in 1987, in Montreal, GLJ opening, then Echo and lastly New Order. While I definitely like GLJ, particularly their earlier releases, they seemed out of place with Echo and New Order.

On that tour, echo and New Order traded off who was headlining that night.

I saw them at the Pier in NYC, and New Order headlined, but then Ian Mc Culloch from Ech came out and sang lead when New Order did "Love Will Tear Us Apart" as an encore.
