Many New Wave covers by Non New Wave artists have been made over the last years and only few or maybe none of them were better than the originals.
Placebo has recently covered "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush.

It seems this would be a non-question poll... in other words I think we'll be hard pressed to find very many (a few) NWO-ers, who might like the Placebo version.

I voted for Kate but I have to admit that I love the Placebo version. Glokstadt is right though - I would bet that only a handful here have even heard the Placebo cover.

While I sort of like the Placebo cover, you should read the teenage bitchery about Bush at YouTube. It actually makes me sort of dislike the Placebo cover a little. Damn kids. I suppose it's just a generational thing, but they really tear the original apart.

The Placebo version is outstanding. I'm not a big fan of Kate's, but I've always loved that song.

The Placebo version is good, but I still like Kate's better. They bring even more of a melancholic feel. There are plenty of "homemade" videos on youtube, like this one with scenes from Velvet Goldmine, if anyone wants to hear it. Look at the long list of covers on itunes - it has quite a few
The Futureheads gave a more upbeat feel to Hounds of Love, but it was a good cover, as well. I guess that shows the strength of her songs.

I'm from the new generation you could say and I like Placebo very very much.
But I still prefer Kate's version better. That song is completely hers.

Anything by Kate Bush is great in my opinion...even her Aerial comeback CD, which isn't one of my favorites by her but it is enjoyable nonetheless.
