what artist(s) and or band(s) from the 1950's & 1960's paved the way or was influences on new wave/power pop/punk ???????

my list is.....
1950's...elvis (of course),ricky nelson,eddie cochran,bill haley & his comets,little richard,bobby darin,cliff richard & the shadows..

1960's...beatles (of course),mc5,stooges,dave clark 5,animals,rolling stones,stawberry alarm clock,most all british invasion groups,the bubblegum movement of the late 60's,the doors,a few of the psychedelic groups of the 60's....
