Will "Shopping from A to Z" Ever Be Defended?

Does anybody remember this absolutely horrid song by Toni Basil?
Now I know there have been many threads on "BAD" songs from the New Wave era, but mostly those are just personal opinions and with almost every song that is listed, someone will come along and say that particular song is not as bad as such and such, but I have YET to see that happen with this one.
It even had a video. [xx(]
Was there anything worse?
How did that song even happen?
Did she lose a bet and have to perform a dare?
This one has bothered me for years.
Does anybody remember the video?
Was MTV that desperate for video back then?

It's my understanding that Ms. Basil released the 1st video LP. Meaning that every song from her 1981 "Word Of Mouth" LP, (including the one you mentioned) she had made into a video (and probably choreographed them too).
I've never heard anything beyond

I am a big Toni Basil fan and let me be the first to say "Shopping From A-Z" is one of her best songs, I do own her video collection she put out for the album Word Of Mouth, yet sadly it does not have the video for "Shopping From A-Z" though it

Wow! I am suprised you really need to either go on ebay and buy something or her's or somehow find a sound sample on either Amazon or Cduniverse, she has that early 80's new wave sound, similar to any of those synth pop bands, very good stuff and "Shoppin
