Hello Everyone:

I'm sure a lot of you have sang or still sing when you hear some of your favorite songs playing on your Record/CD player, who would you compare your vocals to? and who do you try to sound most like in some cases, or do you ever try to imitate vocals?

I have to say I try and I guess sound a lot like Fred from the B-52's, I wouldn't really compare myself to him but I have a very quriky sound kind of like a male Lene Lovich as well [:p]

My best is Paul Weller. I can imitate Bono (quiet mumbling Bono that is).

I also do a really good John Lennon but I'm a huge McCartney fan and I can't sing like HIM at all.

Me, who makes windows crack, dogs cover their ears, and stunts plant growth with my voice ? I'm probably closest to Kate Bush, with her squeaks, howls, and moans.

Doesn't stop me from singing, though ( just ask my husband ! )

Would be very cool if there was a way we can record ourselves and let everyone hear, sounds really cool would love to hear some of you guys sing in a new wave tone

Ahh, I am the girl of a thousand voices...I hate my own, so I just steal little bits from other singers that I like, lol.

Well, singing in a cover band, I do a mean Johnny Rotten (which is a mean feat for a girl)...

Thanks! The best was a couple of years ago, when we did a Christmas show, and we covered the Live Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas?" I did Paul Young, Bono, George Michael, Boy George, and Paul Carrack.

Remember this is from a biased perspective: my own. But I think that I can pull off a fairly good Tears for Fears (not sure which one), and Tony Hadley (I belt out a fairly mean rendition of True), maybe Michael Stipe as well. Also I'm competent with Sc
