After the REAL band dissolves...

Hearing a Big Audio Dynamite tune on the radio today made me think...are there any bands out there after the original REAL band dissolved that is better than the real band? You know--Big Audio came after the Clash, Style Council came after the Jam, etc, etc,--I find myself having a very difficult time getting into these bands-at least ones that I can think of.

I'm not speaking of artists that go solo after being in a band--such as Peter Murphy and Shelley--whom I think are better as solo artists than Bauhaus or Buzzcocks--but a significant band that broke up and a new band emerged. Things such as PIL after the Sex Pistols just dont do it for me. Anyone else?
