What would you say is the song you have ever listened to the MOST ? Think back to when you were 12...or 14...or 16....or anytime you sat around and listened to a song to DEATH. IT may not necessarily be your fave song (although it probably was at the time, right?[;)]), but you sure heard the hell out of it. You knew/ know every word, every note, every nuance. Maybe you even wore out your copy (cassettes come to mind).

Can you truly remember such a song? Doesn't necessarily have to be New Wave.

And if you can't really say for certain what song, what about an ALBUM ?

Here are a few that wore down on my turntable when I was youngster in the 70's. I'd say these are pretty much in descending order from most listened to:

Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood - Some Velvet Morning
Mashmakan - As The Years Go By
Bowie - Starman
Bowie - Big Brother/Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family
Donovan - Atlantis
Beatles - Hello Goodbye
Leonard Cohen - So Long Marianne
Leonard Cohen - Winter Lady

"Souvenir" by OMD (1981) and "Dancing In The Shadows" by French kiss (1983). I still listen these two songs too much (and Souvenir was the reason why I'm very fond of the early 80s music). :P

Side 1 of Kraftwerk .:. Autobahn

I would wake up in the morning with the tune in my head....I always thought the lyrics were: "...fun, fun, fun of the autobahn". Not realizing it was in German "...Wir fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn". Hey, I was 13 ok?

Hey, that's cool. I used to think China Grove was "Shiny Goat", and don't get me going on "Purple mountains majesty . . . amber waves of grey" (I'm amazed that, even as a young child, I never questioned that!). I also liked to sing at xmas about "Don we now are gay of peril . . ." LOL (I figured it was about laughing in the face of danger.) [:p]

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.

For me it was Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
I probably played my 12" version of 19 by Paul Hardcastle equally frequently though. [8D]

EDIT: Just remembered by addiction to my 7" of Duran Durans Reflex...
