I'm sitting here listening to XM radio Fred and Alphaville's "Forever Young" starts playing. IMO, this is one of the saddest sounding New Wave songs - great song, but sad.

What are some other great, but "sad", New Wave songs?

"More To Lose" by Seona Dancing and "Send My Heart" by The Adventures. Sad and yet very brilliant at the same time.

It's sort of funny, this song. It's got the plinky little toy piano and they're strumming along... And then you listen to the lyrics (or for me, reading them always works better), and the song is just devastating to me.

The one that jumps to mind as extremely sad is Godley & Creme "Cry". Don't get much sadder than that!
