A friend taped 6 hours of this channel for me. I was expecting a "greatest hits" of early MTV, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Burning Down The House, etc etc and to a certain extent that's what it was but they also played some pretty obscure stuff I had never seen or totally forgotten about.

for example:
Kate Bush-Suspended In Gaffa
Earons-Land of Hunger
Eurogliders-forgot the song name
Planet P Project-Pink World

Of course, one of the best parts about early videos are the hilariously dated clothes, cheesy effects,and horrendous lip synching. One vintage Hall & Oates video was so bad I was laughing, guffawing even, throughout the whole thing.

Anyone else have this channel?

It's the main reason I have Comcast Digital, I have to say. Videos I had given up ever seeing again are aired on that channel regularly. I can't tell you how many Replacements videos I have seen on that channel.

They could just pull regular MTV off the air and replace it with vh1 classic as far as I'm concerned. MTV is just soap operas and game shows now.[V]

MTV has added MTV Hits (as opposed to VH-1 which was original called Video Hits-1) It plays all the latest crappy videos. It's the old MTV.

I like what the original MTV has become. I liked the Andy Dick reality show spoof. I like the pathetic Sim

They also taped the first night of her 3 consecutive shows in NYC. Unfortunately the microphone gave out in mid-concert for a few minutes(during "2nd Floor").

I swear VH-1 Classic as of late has been playing more "mainstream" 80s videos. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I've been switching away from the station as of late.

I watched "The Alternative" briefly last night before falling asleep, Cracker's Teen Angst followed by Specials' Rat Race followed by a Tom Verlaine video I'd never seen.
