Especially Barney Sumner. he is FREEKIN amazing. Just curious. :-P

Also, who else is a New Order fan here? Very Happy

Been a massive Pet Shop Boys and New Order fan since 1993, and sadly, never got a chance to see either live. But, hopefully in time, LOL. (That is, if New Order decide to NOT to split... pfff...)[:(]
New Order's my favorite band, ever. heh.

I'm new here and just got to lurking about.. and it seems like a really cool place ya got here! [:D]

Well, gotta go.. its dinnertime here... and gotta do some crap. lol.

Glad to be here!

<br>I think most people here are New Order fans. They always top the lists in all the list threads. Mechi is probably the biggest NO fan that I've met here.

That's touching... it's one of the best things that you can tell me.

Coming to thread title, I never spoken to one of them personally (I wish I get the chance) but since I started shouting like crazy "Play Love will tear us apart" by the end of their Buenos Aires show, Bernard looked down and said "Ian Curtis is alive". Hey, I never get tired of this anecdote.
I personally think that Blir, Marvy and Schwenko are huge neworderists from the people among this site.

One thing I've heard N.O. say recently that was disconcerting was that they thought The Killers were the only (and I'm paraphrasing) "worthy band to pass the torch to"....ugh. The Killers? Even though Interpol are completeJ.D. rip-offs, the songs are much more palatable to most of our 'New Wave' palettes...The Killers are just AOR crap.

Maybe they're just proud that they got their name from the Crystal video (the band name on the drum kit). Or maybe it's just Hooky shooting his mouth off again as he's prone to. His DJ sets don't exactly excel, and his comments that the most signature song to him from the Hacienda days was "Rhythm Is a Dancer" is downright disturbing. [xx(]

in response to the original question [:D]..........

yes I met a shared a pint with Bernard Sumner when New Order played the tv show The Tube in Newcastle in 1986ish

we didn't have tickets so rang the studio asking to speak to the producers secretary. Told her Malcolm had promised to leave us tickets on reception and we were just checking they ready. " no they weren't but she'd see to it ". Turned out to be access all areas tickets so we wandered into the green room and had a pint with Barney who was there all alone. No ideaa what we spoke about, just remember he was quite shy and very quietly spoken.

Interesting. If laughing boy knew that then, he may have lasted longer here.

Two things.

Gee I'm glad no one here ever called me a troll when I first came on. Maybe it's cuz I've never started a new topic. Yeah..I just slid right on in. Heh.
