The Chills:This is one of those bands that has OK material but nothing else compares to "Pink Frost" on the cd. Does anyone have anything else thats similar ? This song is oh so good ! I would recommend listening to it on headphones. It has such a happy gung ho beginning that turns into an ethereal sounding sad song. Dont get me wrong,it has some decent tunes but not to the level of this one :

Agreed 100%. That song is hauntingly beautiful.
The Chills have that typical New Zealand quirky jangly indie pop sound that is nice, but nothing that made me run out and buy. However, I am thinking of picking up a cd that has "Pink Frost" simply becaus

Design_Femme, Thanks for the link to the video--it's great ! Had no idea there was a vid .I noticed in the synopsis they say the song is dedicated to the death of their former drummer ? I could not understand that. The song gives no clues till I read furt

I have all The Chills CD's and you are missing lots of good songs if you only go after that one track. If you don't like jangly pop with good vocals and catchy songs, steer clear of The Chills.

The Chills are a Kiwi national treasure, and "Pink Frost" is exquisite. The House of Love does a respectable cover of it on one of their b-sides.
The first Chills song I heard was "This Is the Way", back in my DJ days. Extraordinary and haunting.
