IMO, Depeche Mode are the biggest band from our era and still are fantastic. In some ways they are bigger than U2. Below are some which still kick A**. can you guys put your inputs on bands which are still together and regularly realease stuff.

1. Depeche Mode
2. Simple Minds (Jim Kerr and the boys still rock like they did in the early days)My favourite.
3. Duran Duran (have you seen Simon lately doing "Notorious"?)
4. A-ha
5. The Cure ( Mr. Smith still has it)
6. Pet Shop Boys

Fall Apart, Golden Heart, too late, too late, too late to start.

The Knack is still kicking much butt. Check out their 1998 CD "Zoom" (reissued as "Re-Zoom" in 2003) and 2001's "Normal as the Next Guy." Very much on par with their early stuff.
Also, didn't get to see them but the Producers put on a show in my area recently. Would have been really cool to have seen them.

The Cult- check out "Stand Alone" from the new album.

Siouxsie- "They Follow You" is a standout track.

Annie Lennox- new album but nothing too compelling to my ears.

The Fixx - released a solid album in '03, tours extensively, worth every penny in concert, new album on tap for '08. Cy Curnin's solo album from last year is very good

Simple Minds - 2005's Black and White LP was a marked improvement over Cry from '02. Track 1, "Stay Visible" belongs in their Top 20 songs. Saw them live in '02 - amazing concert.

Depeche Mode - almost always a home run in concert (the Exciter tour was pretty boring), the last two albums have just been 'ok', but I still get excited when a new album is on the way.

Trisomie 21 - their last album, Happy Mystery Child, was a sort of a return to form. They just released a 25th Anniversary box set, a live CD, and are working on their next album. I wish this band would tour the U.S., they're one of my favorites

a-ha - It's a crime that this band gets no run in this country. The last few albums have been decent (hit and miss for me), but 1999's Minor Earth Major Sky ranks with their best stuff. I guess they still fill arenas in Europe. In the U.S., they're 'that 80's band that did "Take On Me"'. Shame on us.

Echo & The Bunnymen - Siberia was their best album in many, many years. Good to see they have some gas left in the tank.

I know Stuart Adamson is sadly no longer with us, but I thought I saw something about Big Country still doing things? Or it might have just been releasing back catalogue stuff [?]

Hi why could replace him in Big Country?I think no one.

I thought the B-52's were supposed to come out with a new studio album at the end of 2007. They are my pick for one band that's still around and kicking ass. I think Kate and Cindy sound great! xx

The Cars did pretty good last year. Still need Ric back though.

Happy Heart- Marc Almond from "Stardom Road" album.

He's such a cabaret singer and sounds right at home here.

Take the L (live)- Martha Davis from "The Countdown Spectacular Live 2"

Martha still has the pipes and is currently touring!
