I recently picked up Cars member Benjamin Orr's mid-eighties solo release, The Lace.
Other than Stay The Night, which was all over MTV at the time, this album went pretty-much unnoticed by me.
I actually enjoy it very much. In fact (and I may take some slack for this) I think is every bit as good as any Cars LP, post Candy-O.
Has anyone else heard this album?

Stay the Night, When You're Gone, This Time Around, and Skyline all sound so sad now with Ben gone...especially the first one, so damn sad [:(]

yeah, when I was beefing up my more obscure 80s stuff, I got all the solo albums from the Cars members, and pretty much every song on this album went right into my "absolute 80s" playlist on my ipod.

Yes, as Randall said, the "Too Hot To Stop" video is pretty bad. But I like the album as a whole.

I especially like "In Circles", but really, it was best when Ric wrote them and Ben sang them.

I am fan of the three Cars members making solo projects. Highlights are "Stay The Night" by Ben Orr, "The Way You Look Tonight" by Ric Ocasek and "Wearing Down (Like a Wheel)" by Elliot Easton.
