The Elvis v. Elvis post got me thinking (along with the Muzak in the bathroom.) You are stranded on a desert island (Yes this is a DID question for you Rocket readers.) would you rather have Frank Sinatra or Frankie Goes To Hollywood? Why?

No question, Frank Sinatra, besides the fact in every single possible way fathomable, he is better than FGTH, even though to compare these two artists is a bit farfetched to begin with. That said, Frank Sinatra recorded enough music to keep you listening

I will also pay money for a bootleg of Sinatra singing Alice Cooper's "Olny Women Bleed". Evidently he sang it on one of his late-70's tours.

No contest! Sinatra is THE single most important vocal recording artist of the 20th century. His work (especially the Capitol Records era 1952-1961) is the defintion of quality music. Despite having a few good songs to their credit, FGTH are'nt worthy to

Sinatra hands down, a no-brainer. "In the Wee Small Hours" is an achingly gorgeous album. A definite must-have. I always thought FGTH were more hype than substance. Though they did have a couple of good singles.

Oh, well Frank Sinatra I guess. At least my a-hole wouldn't be attacked while I slept, well, at least not for a long time anyway. With FGTH, they'd be on it before the stranding occurred.

IMHO, it was never really a contest. Sinatra put out a ton of great material and FGTH was never close. Now, check out the Frankie v. Frankie 1985 thread

I'll happily join the chorus -- I love FGTH to death but you could put Sinatra up against just about any artist you care to name and it would never even once be a contest. The Voice wins every time.
