Some updates on RCM

http://duranduran.no/cms/index.php?opti ... 1&Itemid=1

so the 1st single will be Falling Down, not Night Runner?

wow, that is MUCH better !!
Maybe they got some bad advance reviews of "Nite Runner" [}:)]?!

This sounds a lot more like a cohesive, well-crafted, musical song, as opposed to NR. Actual instruments, singing, melodies, DD "splash", with a bit of funkiness mixed in. Trademark Simon whine (which I always liked[:I]). At the same time, it also sounds "older" and more "mature" (hear that bit at the very end that almost sounds like "Ordinary World" ?), which is probably how many will view it. A bit on the slow, ballad-y side.
Hmmm...we'll see. But anyway, I like this a helluva lot more than last week's dreck.

thanks for posting, latebar...I couldn't find this anywhere.

catchy, if the rest of the album is on these lines, I will buy.
Sadly, I don't think DD will see any no.1's though?????

Might just break the top 40's.

Fall Apart, Golden Heart, too late, too late, too late to start.

U are welcome, KYYX4ever. After i heard it, i just had to post it here[:)]

I like this as much as i like NightRunner. Yeah, FD has shades of DD. Trademarked sounds etc. Its all mish-mash of ThankYou, Medazzaland, Astronaut, Ordinary World. It also reminds me of Delores O'Rhaidan's Are U Listening cd

I think the reason why DD shelved NightRunner in favour of FD is because Le Bon & Co. read the negative comments u guys made on the NR thread hahaha, so they got spooked[:D] LOL

2004/2005

From Wiki:
Astronaut debuted at #1 on the Internet album chart (that is, physical albums bought through Internet vendors), #3 in the UK album chart, and at #17 in the US Billboard 200 album chart, with similar Top Twenty debuts elsewhere in the world. Meanwhile, the CD/DVD set debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Music Video chart.

The first single, "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise" debuted at #5 in the UK singles chart. In late November, it reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart

Ok, thanks TM. Sunrise did good but i always felt that its over-hyped, that song. its my least fav on Astronaut.
What Happens Tomorrow & Nice kinda tanked in the charts, right? even tho they are better songs

my gut feeling tells me RCM will do better than Astronaut. Am keeping my fingers crossed hahaha[;)]

I agree that this album should do better.
The fact that Timbaland and Justin Timberlake appear on it should give it some 'push" by the label.

Most definitely a safer (and more musically pleasing) choice IMO.

Furthermore, since we're heading into Autumn (er.. Fall), the song's melancholy mood and color seems to strike a more resonate chord with that of the approaching season.

Aside from that, it's good to hear that the Timba/Timberlake production values have not totally corrupted/co-opted the DD sound.

However, it would be ironic to see our collective NWO drubbing of NR rendered immaterial by a top 40 (or 10) charting debut if and when that one does get released.
