Best out of print New Wave albums

My vote here is for the Hawks two albums, their self-titled debut in 1981 and the excellent follow-up "30 Seconds Over Otho" in 1982.
Probably the only song any casual fan has ever heard is "It's all Right, It's OK" the first song on the first album. Excellent tune and sets the stage for other great songs like "Lonely Nights," the Beatles-sounding "Let me In" and "Need Your Love."

The second album is arguably even stronger with more of an AOR-meets new wave sound. "Nobody Loses Tonight," "The Great Divide" and "Don't Walk Away" are all standout numbers. Neither album has ever been issued on CD. Shame on Columbia/Sony.

Fortunately, Not Lame Records put out a new Hawks record in 2003 from their 80s leftovers. Check out "Perfect World Radio," if you like the crisp new wave sounds that was prevalent from 1979-83.

Great post TerryMc and welcome. The Hawks are a good choice I will add the Silencers two lp,s their second lp Romanic is difficult to find.Add the Stompers to that and Red Rockers-Condition Red(I paid a good buck for that one recently).

I have to add that it is a crime that the album Arias And Symphonies by Spoons is not available of CD. it was for while but is out of print again. This album is one of the best New Wave albums out of Canada and a true classic album. It is the 25th anniversary of the release of it this year.

Apparently Ready Records will be adding some Spoons material to ITunes. When and what remain to be seen. My guess is they will put up Arias, and Collectible Spoons.

<p align="justify">I think it's just the obsessive-compulsive collectr0 in me that needs to have this. I also wanna get some of those Madonna singles that are out of print. At this point, I'd pay for decent Taiwanese bootlegs.
