I hate it when a great song has a really lame ending-one thats as if they did not know how to end it.
My number one example--The Expression--With Closed Eyes.

"Cool City" by Danny Elfman/Oingo Boingo. Amazing song, but I hate hate hate the end.

I sat for a while earlier trying to think of one. Then I ran some errands this afternoon, and The Fleshtones' "Shadow Line" came on the car stereo(CD-R mix). Man, talk about a lame ending ! It's like they just got tired and stopped playing.

'Cry, Cry, Cry' by Two Minds Crack has this awkward ending that slows the songs brisk tempo down to a stumbling drumbeat which concludes on a set of ill timed staccato beats and a final synth flourish.. wha?[B)]

<p align="justify">Morrissey's "November Spawned A Monster" has a terrible interlude near the end. Otherwise, the song is great - if I could only edit that annoying part out of it[}:)]

Radiohead - My Iron Lung
I love the quite part of the beginning, which continues throughout the song
-- It's the jarrrrrring part I don't like as much -- so disjointed when compared to the rest.

"The Pitchman" by Saga. Not that the chorus is that great, but the ending goes on for what seems like a thousand years, renders the song disjointed, and is basically unlistenable.

Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes (Special Mix) – 8:56 is a great song; however, the ending sucks because it just gets going at that point and cuts off Youssou N'Dour's voice way to soon--I'd love to hear more of it by then. That song could be a 15 minute plus jam with coda and recap, and I would still be listening.

I know I'm gonna be in the minority on this one, but it always bothered me that the outro of Gary Numan's "Cars" is so long. The lyrics are done at the 1:30 mark, leaving more than 2 minutes of synth jam. I think the song is great, but I wish he had devoted another stanza to his unusual obsession about cars.
I also don't like the ending of "Cruiser" by the Cars. It just stops with a whiny guitar sound.

I couldn't agree more about Cruiser. Love that song but hate that ending

One that comes to mind is Combo Audio - Romanticide
I disagree with The Expression - With Closed Eyes and in my opinion the chorus is what makes that song, otherwise it's rather dull.

Anything that ends with a fade out is a clear indicator that they couldn't figure out a way to end the song. As a musician myself, I can understand the trouble. When we're playing our covers live, they always have to have an end. We can't do a fade out live. (although they do sometimes show bands doing things like that live on TV). Whatever.
