I think they are just words and they are only "offensive" and have power enough to offend, because people let themselves be bothered. "Faggot" is offensive and I don't agree with its use but come on ... get a grip. Everything in life offends "somebody". Coming from a guy who calls himself "Bruiser" and who immortalized the (admittedly deserved) farewell to djsoss "sayonara, dipshit" it was just a little surprising.

Ok, Bruiser ... it's up to you whether or not you want to be offended. Just remember that it's impossible to be offended without YOU giving your consent. But yes, it is your right. I didn't mean to say that I didn't think it was. I just thought it was out of character coming from you. So I was wrong.

Again, I don't agree with calling anyone a "faggot" either and believe me when I say I'd be the first person to have your back if anyone ever tried to physically bash you in my presence. My support for gay people is well-documented, both here and IRL. But it's my opinion that nobody, regardless of who they are, should need to be protected from mere words.
