I noticed we have a new member by the name of Shoegazer87 (welcome, by the way!) which got me to thinking about that brief so-called "movement" in England in the 90's (not to be confused with the "Manchester" scene) that spawned many good bands, especially with just one short name, such as Ride, Blur (I know they don't really fit), Lush, Curve, etc., and other bands that may or may not have sounded like them, but came along at around the same time, such as Chapterhouse, Catherine Wheel, Boo Radleys, Heart Throbs, Swervedriver, or bands that influenced them, as Jesus & Mary Chain, or My Bloody Valentine, etc. It was more about a certain sound, than merely staring at the floor. I was especially fond of Ride, as they were more melodic and pop-oriented than most. I know there are a lot more bands I forgot to mention, but what are your thoughts and favorite ones?
