Hi, I'm Scott and I'm new to the board, I wonder if anyone remembers an Australian group called Flash and the Pan and one of their songs called "Waiting for a Train."?[?]

Welcome Scott!!
While Flash and the Pan were always one of my favorites--oddly enough I first heard them on AM radio when my car radio was screwed up oh so many eons ago--Waiting For A Train was always a song I disliked.
Hey St Peter immediatly got me hooked in and I preferred tunes such as Down Among The Dead Men, Lights In The Night, Make Your Own Cross, Up Against The Wall, War Games, Saviour Man and California.

I really like Hey St. Peter and always wondered if their other material was any good.
From the little information I can find, their debut album contains their best work.
I'd like to hear some of the NWO members review the album. In fact, I can think of a ton of 80's albums that I'd be very interested in hearing NWO members' opinions of. This board has some of the most knowledgable people I know, when it comes to 80's music, and I think a thread of album reviews would be great.
When you go to Amazon.com, it seems like every album ever released is a five-star masterpiece. Especially 80's releases. Probably because people are already fans of the group and familiar with the release before they order it from Amazon.
I would probably inmvest in a lot more cds if I know what the consensus at NWO thinks of them.

You're gonna trust the musical taste of a bunch of people who think Doot Doot is the greatest new wave song ever?

And some is a lot worse.
I hope to learn much from ed 6, who will inject a much needed dose of musical intellect here. Don't disappoint us.

I'm waiting for PoStAlOtOfShIt to put up some Colourfield links before I really unload.

If your goal is to unload on people of that ilk here, you'll be one busy sock.

The Colour Field would be proud to know the discussion about their group name was far more interesting than any discussion about their rather insipid catalog of music.

eight 6, I suspect you might be alright, but let's get one thing straight about Colorfield. Their music is not "rather insipid". Their catalog is a god-fucking-awful-cheesy-make-me-spew-chunks-sphincter-aching-ear-bleeding-mind-numbing-pile-of-shit. And I'm being polite.

Flash and the Pan's debut is their best and the quality diminishes with every release after. I have their entire discography and have been a fan since 1979. Their last decent release was "Early Morning Wakeup Call".
So get their first (I believe you can still found a copy on Amazon) then decide if you should continue on.

My definition of insipid: a god-fucking-awful-cheesy-make-me-spew-chunks-sphincter-aching-ear-bleeding-mind-numbing-pile-of-shit.
I think we can put that to rest.

The difference between us is I don't pretend I'm not an asshole, you on the other hand still have your illusion intact.
