Interesting--back when we posted our top 100 songs--we got an accurate list. But since then most of us have been introduced to gobs of new music of that era we missed the first time around and many comments were made then that in making ones list, we stuck with mostly what we listened to in the 80's. But 20 years from now, we will have 20 plus years of listening to all this "new to us " 80's tunes and we probably would incorporate them in our list.

What the hell am I getting at? Check your top 25 on IPod most played-most of my most played are not on my top 100 from a few years back. Sure--they get more play because they are still "newer" to me--but would they make that list 20 years from now--or would my standbys from my original list--tunes such as London Calling, Nowhere Girl, A Night Like This etc still make the cut?


For example--my current 25 most played:

1. Australian Crawl--Boys Light Up
2. In Base--Christine
3. A's--Insomnia
4. Atlantics--Wrong Number
5. Wild Men Of Wonga--Why Dont Pretty Girls Look At Me?
6. Payolas--Rose
7. Big Boys--Complete Control
8. Trees--Red Car
9. Jon Astley--Janes Getting Serious
10. Electiks--1981 Overture
11. Cortex--Freaks
12. Dirty Looks--12 OClock High
13. Peter and the Test Tube Babies--Who's Leaving Who?
14. Flash And The Pan--Up Against The Wall
15. Ian Hunter--All The Good Ones Are Taken
16. Cars--Dangerous Type
17. Jonny Sevin--Shes Nobodys Friend
18. Donkeys--Lets Float
19. Underground Cartoons--Not That Stupid
20. The Sweat--Why'd Ya Have To Lie?
21. Nordland--She Didn't Realize
22. Little Bo Bitch--Annoying All The Neighbors
23. The Things--Cant Get Enough
24. The Cars--All Mixed Up
25. The Nobodies--They Didnt Offer Me You

Now I dont believe that many of these songs were in my top 100.

Should be called top 25 Obscure (never heard) tunes of the 80's.

I know of and own exactly five of those. [:(]

But, being a big fan of the five on your list I do know, it makes me want to hear the other fifteen.

I think some of my favorites will change because of oversaturation in commercials. For instance, I love Melt With You from the first instance that I heard it. But now that it's been on twenty bajillion commercials, I've lost a great deal of love for it.
